Description

The rotor arm sits on top of the distributor shaft, which is driven directly by the camshaft via a gear. This ensures that the rotor is precisely synchronized with the engine control. As the camshaft rotates, the rotor transmits the high voltage from the ignition coil via the center contact to the outer edge.

There, the rotor passes the internal contacts of the distributor cap one after another, precisely delivering the ignition spark to each spark plug. A worn rotor can lead to misfires, poor engine performance, and a loss of power. This Bosch spare part restores correct ignition timing.
