Description

The rotor arm sits on top of the distributor shaft, which is driven directly by the camshaft via a gear. This ensures the rotor is precisely synchronized with the engine timing. As the camshaft rotates, the rotor conducts the high voltage from the ignition coil to the outer edge via the center contact.

There, the rotor passes through the internal contacts of the distributor cap in succession, precisely transmitting the ignition spark to each spark plug. A worn rotor can lead to misfires, poor engine running, and a loss of power. This Bosch replacement part restores the correct ignition timing.
