This rubber boot serves as a cover and protection for the mechanics of the automatic heater control (often known as "Heiztronic" or Auto-Heat) in the interior of the Porsche 911. It is located on the control unit (usually between the seats near the handbrake) and encloses the lever mechanism.

Over the years, the original rubber material becomes brittle, cracked, or completely disintegrates due to UV radiation and aging. This not only looks unsightly but also allows dirt to penetrate the sensitive mechanics of the heater control. This replacement boot matches the original in shape and function and restores a neat interior.
