Engine compartment sound insulation mat. OEM / original equipment quality. The mat is installed in the engine compartment – typically on the firewall or the underside of the engine cover – and serves two functions: it dampens engine noise entering the interior and reduces radiant heat transfer to adjacent components. The shape matches the original contour for a precise fit. With age, these mats can sag or tear, leading to increased engine noise in the interior and reduced heat protection. Diagram Ref. No. 26.
