This footwell heating fan (radial fan) is an essential component of the improved heating system in later Porsche 911 G models. Unlike earlier models, which relied solely on the ram air pressure from the engine fan, these electric auxiliary fans in the footwell assist in transporting warm air from the heat exchangers into the cabin.

A defect often manifests as squealing bearing noises, blown fuses, or inadequate heating performance when stationary and at low RPMs.
