- Footwell heater blower (auxiliary fan)
- Type: Centrifugal blower
- Ensures constant warm air flow even at low RPMs
- Suitable for: Porsche 911 (1983–1989) & 930 (1984–1989)
- Reference: Diagram position No. 1 and 2
This footwell heater blower (centrifugal blower) is an essential component of the improved heating system in the late Porsche 911 G-models. Unlike earlier models, which relied purely on the dynamic pressure of the engine fan, these electric auxiliary fans in the footwell support the transport of warm air from the heat exchangers into the interior.
A defect often manifests itself through squealing bearing noises, blown fuses, or insufficient heating performance when stationary and at low engine speeds.
