Koch Chemie Ceramic Rims Cr0.01

Ceramic Rims Cr0.01 is a ceramic coating that offers painted wheels long-lasting protection. The protective layer bonds permanently with the surface through a chemical reaction, resulting in very good water-beading behaviour (lotus effect). Thanks to the easy-to-clean properties, the treated surface can also be cleaned gently and easily by hand washing. The protective layer remains intact even after the use of acidic and alkaline cleaners. The cured ceramic sealant protects the wheel paintwork much longer against environmental influences such as deposits of salt and brake dust and makes cleaning and care easier. Depending on stress, the service life is up to 12 months. Ceramic Rims Cr0.01 can be applied in two coats. Observe the washing and care instructions.

Wheels on cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, motorhomes, caravans etc.

Application

1. Thoroughly clean the wheel before the sealing process (e.g. with Magic Wheel Cleaner). For coarse contamination such as brake dust, use suitable accessories (e.g. Detail Wheel Brush).
2. Wipe all surfaces to be sealed with the Polish & Sealing Towel and Panel Preparation Spray or silicone & wax remover and dry with another clean Polish & Sealing Towel. This removes surfactants and drying aids completely. Dilute silicone & wax remover 1:4 with water, preferably distilled, to avoid dulling.
3. From here on, do not touch the surface with hands or fingers; use gloves.
4. Wet the Application Pen over its whole surface with Ceramic Rims Cr0.01 and spread the sealant evenly. After application, a thin, continuous liquid film must be visible. Leave to flash off and then buff out with the Coating Towel.

Curing and care

• Optimal conditions: 15–25 °C and 40–50 % humidity. At higher values the flash-off time must be shorter; at lower values the reaction cannot take place properly.
• Consumption approx. 5–7 ml per wheel, depending on wheel size and design.
• The sealant reacts with humidity, and crystals can form on the rim of the bottle. Wipe these off with a cloth before dispensing drops, otherwise the surface will be scratched.
• For a double coating, leave to dry for approx. 30 minutes after the first coat, depending on temperature and humidity.
• Weatherproof after 24 hours at the earliest, first vehicle wash after nine days at the earliest. Below 15 °C the curing time is extended.
• After 24 hours, applying Spray Sealant S0.02 or Hand Wax W0.01 is recommended to protect the ceramic sealant, which has not yet fully cured.
• Avoid cleaning agents with pH values below 3 or above 12.
• An opened bottle keeps for a maximum of 6 months; check for crystallisation before use.
• Hand washing is recommended for care: alkaline with Green Star (1:10), neutral with Gentle Snow Foam, and Magic Wheel Cleaner or Reactivation Shampoo for mineral contamination. Afterwards use Hydro Foam Sealant S0.03 (1:50 to 1:200) as a wet sealant or Spray Sealant S0.02 or Hand Wax W0.01 as a topper.

Notes

• Before use, please read the hazard information on the container or outer carton and take appropriate protective measures.
• In the first nine days, remove soiling as quickly and gently as possible.
