Description

The shock absorber bump stop limits the maximum compression stroke, thus preventing the rear shock absorbers from bottoming out mechanically. The additional dust cover protects the damper piston from dirt, moisture, and stone chips – crucial for a long service life and smooth damping performance.

As they age, bump stops harden or deteriorate, while dust boots often tear. Replacing them restores the rear axle shock absorbers to their factory-set function and prevents further damage to the shock absorber mechanism.

The components are marked as diagram no. 6 and no. 8 in the parts diagram.
