Koch Chemie 1K-Nano

The 1K-Nano network bonds firmly with the paintwork and, on the basis of innovative reactive substances, forms an extremely smooth, high-gloss paint sealant that is resistant to chemicals, UV radiation and abrasion. Special additives give the paintwork an extreme depth of gloss. The one-step process significantly reduces working time compared with 2-component systems. The paintwork is perfectly and permanently protected against adverse environmental influences. Thanks to a unique easy-to-clean performance, insects, bird droppings and similar deposits can be removed much more easily. The durability is approx. 1 year, but can be extended to up to 3 years by regular manual aftercare with NanoMagicShampoo (hand wash) or by aftercare with NanoMagic Twin Wax (car wash), as well as the recommended annual paint inspection by a specialist!

Application

1. Basic cleaning: Before the polishing and sealing process, thoroughly pre-clean / wash the vehicle with an alkaline cleaner (e.g. with Green Star, no sealant shampoos). Treat coarse contamination such as tree resin, flash rust or tar beforehand with clay bar, tar remover or similar.
2. Heavily to moderately weathered paintwork: depending on condition, work by machine with Heavy Cut abrasive polish or fine grinding paste. Remove residues completely with a professional microfibre cloth.
3. Hologram removal: work lightly weathered or pre-polished paintwork by machine with high-gloss anti-hologram polish using a forced-rotation dual-action polisher and orange anti-hologram sponge. Remove residues completely with a professional microfibre cloth.
4. Degreasing: from here on, wear suitable gloves. Wipe all surfaces with little pressure using a clean professional microfibre cloth soaked in silicone & wax remover, and wipe over again with another new professional microfibre cloth directly before it dries. Only in this way are surfactants, drying aids and polish oils removed completely and cross-linking problems avoided. For sensitive solid-colour or single-layer paints, dilute the silicone & wax remover 1:4 with water to avoid dulling. Re-polish the last streaks with another clean professional microfibre cloth without pressure. After that, do not touch the paintwork with hands or fingers again.
5. Sealing: recommended ambient temperature 15–30 °C, process and cure only in a closed hall. Shake the aluminium bottle well shortly before use and decant it into the plastic bottle (75 ml) supplied; the amount is generally sufficient for a medium-sized vehicle. Ideally apply by machine using a dual-action polisher without forced rotation at a slow setting and a black finishing sponge (strongly recommended for single-layer and dark solid-colour paints), alternatively by hand with a soft sponge without pressure, working in sections of no more than one component each. Polish in for approx. 2–3 minutes with closely overlapping passes, continually applying fresh sealant. After that, do not apply any more fresh sealant, and polish until a continuous film without bead formation forms.
6. Buffing off: wait a further 2–3 minutes and buff the fully dried film to a high gloss with a clean professional microfibre cloth.
7. Curing: after a reaction time of approx. 1–2 hours the sealant has cured. Any streaks can then be removed with a professional microfibre cloth or disappear during the first vehicle wash, after 3 days at the earliest.

Notes

• Test for suitability and compatibility before use.
• Always process and cure in a closed hall and not outdoors.
• Do not use on fresh repair paintwork!
• Repainted surfaces require a curing time of approx. 6–8 weeks before the sealant can be applied.
• Original manufacturer paintwork on new vehicles can be sealed directly.
• Ensure good ventilation and a supply of fresh air during processing!
• Due to the reactive components, 1K-Nano is stored in a high-barrier aluminium bottle.
• Pour any remaining amounts back into the aluminium bottle immediately after use, close it immediately and always store it upright.
• The shelf life after opening is approx. 1 year.
• To apply 1K-Nano, use only the ultrasonically cut professional microfibre cloth, as lower-quality cloths contain finishes such as fabric softener, silicone derivatives etc. and thus prevent cross-linking on the paintwork.
• Always use several clean cloths to avoid carrying over residues and thus unwanted cross-linking disruption.
