History

From Reutter to Recaro.

RECARO traces back to the Stuttgart coachbuilder Reutter, founded in 1906 — the company that built the bodies of the Porsche 356. In 1963 Porsche took over the body-building business; the remaining seat operation became RECARO.

Since then, RECARO shells have been a fixture in racing and touring car motorsport — the shell of the Porsche 964 RS also came from RECARO. The current program draws a clean line: road-approved full bucket seats with ABE on one side, FIA-homologated racing shells on the other.

The program

The models.

The Podium CF as the flagship, the Pole Position (ABE) in four trims — plus seat bases and adapters to match your vehicle.

ABE / Teilegutachten — Road

Road use is only permitted in combination with the vehicle-specific RECARO seat base and the matching adapter as specified in the certificate. We clarify which combination your vehicle needs before you order.

FIA 8855-1999 — Motorsport

The FIA homologation is only valid in combination with the corresponding RECARO adapter. Racing shells with FIA homologation do not have an ABE and must not be used on public roads — the only exception: the RECARO Podium with both ABE and FIA homologation.
