Three steps to your part
Sheet 02 / processSend a photo
Photograph the part from all sides, even if it is broken or in pieces. Measurements help but are not essential. We will come back to you with an assessment and a fixed price.
Time needed: 5 minutes
Scan & CAD
We digitise the original with a 3D scan and reconstruct it as a clean CAD model. Warping, cracks and missing corners are corrected in the process, so the model is better than the part you send us.
Time needed: 2–5 days
Printing & shipping
Printed in the right engineering material, dimensionally checked and carefully packed. As a rule you will have your part 7–14 days after we receive the original.
Time needed: 1–3 days + shipping
Which material fits?

The material archive
PLA
up to ~55 °CDisplay models, test-fit samples, gauges and templates. Dimensionally accurate and precise, but not for fitting to the vehicle. With the widest range of finishes for models and display pieces.
PETG
up to ~70 °CThe tough all-rounder for the interior and luggage compartment: clips, brackets, covers, containers. Chemically resistant to oil and cleaning agents.
ABS
up to ~90 °CThe material most original interior parts from the 1970s to the 1990s were made of. Classic look, classic feel, and glass-fibre reinforced for load-bearing brackets.
ASA
up to ~95 °C · UVUV-stable for everything exposed to sunlight: vent grilles, trim panels, mirror housings, body attachments. It does not yellow and does not become brittle, which is exactly where the originals fail.
PC
up to ~115 °CPolycarbonate when real strength and dimensional stability are needed: highly loaded brackets, housings, parts close to heat sources. Flame retardant on request for the area around the electrics and fuse box.
PA / Nylon
up to ~150 °CThe top choice for the engine bay: resistant to sustained load, vibration and wear. Carbon and glass-fibre reinforced, replacing original parts that were themselves glass-filled nylon.
High performance
up to ~180 °CComposites for the hardest cases: extreme stiffness, minimal thermal expansion, permanently hot environments right next to the engine.
TPU
Shore 85A–68DA rubber substitute in four hardness grades: grommets, bushings, dampers, gaiters and bump stops, from soft and damping to semi-rigid and dimensionally stable.
Support material
process internalThis is what makes complex geometries printable in the first place: undercuts, cavities and free-floating mounts. The support material is removed without residue after printing.

Frequently asked questions
Sheet 07 / questionsStronger than most 40-year-old originals. We print in engineering materials such as ASA, PC or carbon-fibre reinforced nylon (PAHT-CF), which are more heat resistant and more UV stable than the original plastic that has become brittle. What matters is choosing the right material for where the part sits, and that is exactly what we advise on before every print.
Plastic and rubber parts up to roughly shoebox size: trim panels, grilles, clips, brackets, knobs, sliders, housings, grommets and covers. The focus is on vehicles from the 1960s to the 1990s, across all makes, from Porsche through BMW and Mercedes to Alfa, Fiat and VW. No safety-relevant components such as brakes, steering or suspension.
From 25 € in the Pioneer programme, where you pay only for material and shipping and the scan and CAD design are on us. From 89 € in the Klassik package including exclusive CAD rights. The final price depends on size, material and effort and is fixed before you place the order, so you decide afterwards.
The original part is ideal, even broken, warped or in fragments. We correct warping and fractures in the CAD design. Without the part we work from the counterpart on the other side of the car, from drawings, or from measurements taken on the vehicle.
As a rule 7 to 14 days after we receive the part: scan and CAD design take 2 to 5 days depending on complexity, printing and quality control 1 to 3 days, plus shipping. For parts already in our CAD pool it is considerably faster.
In the Pioneer programme we carry out the scan and CAD design free of charge and in return keep the exploitation rights to the model, which means we may later offer the part to other owners as well. You get your part from 25 € (material plus shipping). The programme applies to parts that other owners are looking for too. If you want exclusive rights to the CAD model, choose the Klassik package.
Remanufacturing NLA parts
Appendix / knowledge3D-printed spare parts for classic cars
Anyone running a classic knows the problem: the one plastic part you need is NLA, no longer available. Vent grilles, switch panels, retaining clips, cable grommets or heater sliders for vehicles from the 1960s to the 1990s have been discontinued by the manufacturer, used examples are just as brittle as your own part, or new old stock costs many times over. This is exactly where our remanufacturing by reverse engineering and 3D printing comes in: we digitise the defective original, design a clean CAD model and produce the part anew, in a material that is technically superior to the original.
Reverse engineering: from defective part to CAD model
For us, reverse engineering of classic car parts means a 3D scan of the original, reconstruction of the intended geometry and correction of warping, shrinkage and fractures in the CAD design. The result is a parametric model with manufacturing tolerances of ±0.1 mm, which is what makes clips snap home, trim sit flush and threaded mounts line up. Once designed, the model is kept: in the Pioneer programme a CAD pool grows from which we can repeatedly produce remanufactured classic parts for Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, VW, Alfa Romeo and many other makes.
The right material for every location
The most common mistake with 3D-printed parts is the wrong material. A dashboard vent grille in plain PLA will distort on the first hot day. That is why we select the material according to location and load: ASA is UV stable and weatherproof for all exterior parts, ABS matches the original look of classic interiors, PETG is the tough all-rounder for clips and brackets, polycarbonate stands for high strength, and carbon-fibre reinforced high-temperature nylon (PAHT-CF) takes over in the engine bay where heat and vibration rule. Flexible grommets and gaiters are made from TPU. Our material configurator takes you to the right recommendation in three clicks.
Pioneer programme: remanufacturing from 25 €
The Pioneer programme makes remanufacturing affordable: you send in your part, we carry out the scan and CAD design free of charge, and you pay only for material and shipping, from 25 €. In return we keep the exploitation rights and can offer the part to all owners of the same model in future. Every Pioneer part therefore closes a supply gap for the whole classic car scene. If you need a one-off or want to keep exclusive rights to the CAD model, choose the Klassik package from 89 €. In both cases the sequence is the same: send a photo, get a fixed price, then decide, with no obligation and full transparency.
Send us a photo. That is all it takes.
However broken, whatever the make: if it is plastic and no longer available, we will take a look. Reply within 48 hours, fixed price before you commit.
