The 991 arrived in 2011 with a longer wheelbase, an aluminium and steel hybrid body and electromechanical steering. The first stage, MK1, ran until 2016 with naturally aspirated engines in the Carrera and Carrera S, joined by the Targa, Cabriolet, Turbo and GT3.
